The Pipeline #22: Adam Lisagor | 5by5

Dan’s spanking new interview with Adam is a pure gem. Listen to it (mp3).

… And, as much as it certainly doesn’t evince itself in my own work on anywhere near the level that it does in his own, I’m grateful any strand of Adam’s hirsute genius has ended up sticking to my sweater.

I’ve spoken many times myself how awesome I think Adam is, but Merlin’s tribute is the de facto standard in tribute writing.

Of course, it’s because he knows Adam so much better than I do. I’ve only spent an hour with the guy. All other correspondence has been via email, but those emails have always been very helpful. He was fantastic in suggesting some gear so that I might be able to make future episodes of the COCKTAIL NAPKIN much better than they currently are.

He’s been very complimentary on work that I’ve shared with him, and for someone like him who cares enough to make sure the right details are obsessed over at the right times—well—those compliments have a lot of weight behind them. And, they keep me inspired to keep going. To keep making more things. To care more.

Adam tries. Really fucking hard. And, I love that.

I love that too. I think it is because, as he says, he’s inherently lazy. If you’re lazy, then the energy you do decide to expend on projects is incredibly valuable to you. You’re not going to waste it on any old bullshit.

So, yes. Here’s to Adam. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet. And that, to me, is a terrifyingly exciting proposition.

Also: Thanks, Dan for the mention in Adam’s episode. You can catch it at 23:00.

the MARTINI SHAKER IS DEAD. LONG LIVE the ROCKS GLASS.

the ROCKS GLASS is one of those fancy-schmancy Tumblr sites that happens to be curated by Kansas City-based creative generalist Jeremy Fuksa.

“Creative generalist” sounds like an aggrandized term. It is. But, it rolls off the tongue much easier than Designer, Developer, Writer, Broadcaster, Filmmaker, Speaker, Musician, Photographer and Attention Whore. Plus, it looks way cooler on a business card.
